What Kind of Day are You Having?

Words of Encouragement, especially for God’s ministering servants…

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalm 118:24

We sing it. We quote it. We share it. But do we really believe it, and walk in the reality of this nugget from God’s truth?

Let’s admit it. Some days are better than others. Solomon speaks of the “difficult days (to) come” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Paul speaks of being able to withstand in the evil day (Ephesians 6:13), and Scripture is full of references to the last days and what will happen during those days.

BUT, what does it mean to you that today is a day the Lord has made, and that we have reason to rejoice and be glad? Does it mean that even on challenging days we can take refuge in the truth that Creator God has made this day? Does it mean that this day, regardless of what kind of day you are having, is an occasion for rejoicing and gladness?

Several years ago, Graham Cooke shared a liberating truth which I will paraphrase in my own words. He said, “Christians really don’t have bad days. Every day is a day of grace for the child of God. Some days God gives us the grace to endure, and on other days God gives us the grace to enjoy – but each and every day is a day of grace.”

That concept has been indelibly written on my heart, and I try to remind myself every morning, “This is a day the Lord has made. This is a day of grace. I WILL rejoice and be glad, no matter what may happen.” Write these truths on your heart. Speak them out. Share them with others, and live life from God’s perspective. Believe me, it will make a difference.

Pastor, minister, priest, let’s talk about what kind of day you are having. Contact me at jim.bevis@csrministries.org, or call me at (256) 335-8288. Possibly, I can help you make it a good day, and you may help me as well.
